Pork Pie (2017) [Review]

Pork Pie (2017)

Pork Pie tracks the escapades of a trio of accidental outlaws as they travel the length of the New Zealand in a yellow mini, protesting conformity and chasing lost love, with a posse of cops and a media frenzy hot in their pursuit.

I’m not sure how this has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s really not that good. As the description implies, it’s pretty much your standard ‘on-the-run’ affair, where things gets progressively worse and their inability to turn themselves in leads them down a more mayhem fueled route of nonsense. I seem to be in the minority though. A quick glance down at IMDB shows people losing their minds for this film, describing it as “one of the best we have seen for as long time” and “Probably the best film ever to come out of NZ“. Baffling.

It’s easy to slate a film like this so I’ll spare you the time and spare me the effort of doing so. It’s harmless viewing, slightly funny, it’s the kind of movie you’d stick on if you were very hungover.
