Horns (2013)

238) Horns (2013)

In the aftermath of his girlfriend’s mysterious death, a young man awakens to find strange horns sprouting from his temples.

6/10 – I thought this would be a horror film, it was far from it. It didn’t really seem to fall into any particular genre. Spats of dark humour, occasional gore and themes of paranoia stops it from being anything ‘scary’. The humour took the film down a different path but it was a welcomed one. Not ‘laugh out loud’ funny but funny enough to keep me watching, assisted by Radcliffe’s performance who was fairly good given the material he had to work with. I haven’t read the book, I can’t make the comparison, and I’m not a fan of films that use ‘supernatural’ elements, but at 11pm having watching 3 films already that day, it could have been a whole lot worse.
