169) Neighbors (2014) [Bad Neighbours out of the US]
A couple with a newborn baby face unexpected difficulties after they are forced to live next to a fraternity house.
7/10 – A lot funnier than I expected, and clearly a movie that will polarise opinion. Many people will hate it for it’s dick and tit jokes, frat humour, occasional gross out moments and predictability. I didn’t hate it or like it for those instances. I liked it for the moments of improvisation, the incessant ramblings of the likable duo of Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne, and just the general immaturity that this film explored.
In my humble opinion, it was funny. If you’re going to watch this film and get offended by the things I’ve listed above, I don’t know why you would even begin to watch this film. The trailer, the plot, the poster and the cast pretty much explain the type of film you’re going to get. If you expected anything else, you’re even stupider than this film is.
