A year with one platoon in the deadliest valley in Afghanistan.
8/10 – A very intimate look at a US deployment in one of the most dangerous areas of Afghanistan, but without a narrative it is just that. Although I guess that was point of it, because in reality there really was no narrative to it. No compelling storyline. It was a mess of individual events that were never all that positive. Some of the scenes are harrowing, showing the emotional breakdown of those involved in such a raw way is intensely powerful. It’s hell on earth, it’s scary and there is no happy ending.
