89) Good Night, and Good Luck (2005)
Broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow looks to bring down Senator Joseph McCarthy.
8/10 – A fantastic, intelligent film addressing not only the role of the media back then, but could be served as a parallel for the role of the media now. The straight talking, seriousness of the film is carried along by the strong cast, in particular, David Strathairn, whose portrayal of Edward Murrow is near perfect. Anyone interested in McCarthyism, Journalism or general 1950’s nostalgia should watch this film – you won’t be disappointed.
