Filth (2013)

87) Filth (2013)

A bipolar, bigoted junkie cop manipulates and hallucinates his way through the festive season in a bid to secure promotion and win back his wife and daughter.

4/10 – I really wanted to like this movie, but just didn’t. It started out with a simple enough premise, and had the laughs to go along with it, but somewhere in the middle the laughs stopped. There was nothing. Just bizarre, nonsensical, over-acted, try hard rubbish that made it near impossible to follow.

A caveat to this is that I had been at a beer festival all day, and perhaps watching this film when my ability to interpret pretty much anything is significantly reduced, meant that the score and review I’ve given it could be perceived as harsh. It’s one of those polarising films, and while I was not of entirely sound mind, I was sober enough to know which side I was on.

Oh well. Onto the next one.
