A Place At The Table (2012)

34) A Place At The Table (2012)

A documentary that investigates incidents of hunger experienced by millions of Americans, and proposed solutions to the problem.

7/10 – Not really a topic I am that particularly interested in, but by the end it did have my attention. As simple as it seems, I always thought the fat American stereotype stemmed from eating too much, little did I know that a significant portion of the country cannot feed themselves with healthy food due to living in a ‘food desert’, topped off with the underlying factor of complete misplacement of financial government assistance. Obviously it only shows one side of the story, and a few of those involved in it – but from the stats alone it’s clear there is a ridiculous amount of poverty in one of the worlds richest countries and very little is being done.

It was informative, and it made me hungry.
